"It is to the sound of classical music that we entered Café Guarany (1933), formerly known as the musicians' café, which, after the 2003 recovery, maintains - and still is - the environment of other times. Look at the piano at the back of the room, the two screens The Lords of Amazonia by Graça Morais, the beautiful view of Avenida dos Aliados, and soon feel like sitting at one of the tables. Breakfast is served at any time of the day. At the table, set with a white immaculate towel, a basket arrives with a variety of homemade breads and croissants, jams, honey, scrambled eggs with black-legged ham, a steak and even rolled fruit. All served in Vista Alegre loia.
In addition to orange juice, choose from a tea brand TWG, whose leaves come in exquisite muslin sachets, a cappuccino or another hot drink. For those who want to add a sweet, we recommend the famous French toast (€ 4.50) - the same one that is served in the Café Majestic and where you can also taste this breakfast. The final finish of this first meal of the day is made with a flûte of sparkling wine, served with me il faut.
Av. Dos Aliados, 85, Porto> T. 22 332 1272> Mon-Sun 9am -24pm> € 15"
